Did you know that not all real estate agents are “Realtors?”
It’s true. Just because a person has earned a real estate license
does not mean they are members of the local board of Realtors.
So, what’s the big deal? Earning the prestigious title of Realtor
means that the agent is held to a higher ethical and fiduciary
standard. It also allows the agent the opportunity to be a part
of an elite group of agents that have full access to a wealth
of useful information and participate in regular continuing

main reasons why it is smart to use the services of a Realtor.
The first is that a knowledgeable Realtor will save you as the
buyer and/or seller much time and many potential headaches.
This is because he will have knowledge and experience that will
assist him to help you achieve your goals in buying or selling
a home. In addition, he or she will do so in a timely manner.
Using the “tools of the trade,” the Realtor will be able to
show you how to market your property more efficiently and how
to price your property in such a way to give you a competitive
edge over others. He or she will also help you to create strong
purchase offers and assist you in finding an HONEST and RELIABLE
lender. The other main advantage of using a Realtor is that
it will help prevent unneeded liability to you and your family.
Many times, in an honest attempt to save a few dollars, people
will buy or sell a home as a FSBO. This is an abbreviation we
use for “For Sale by Owners.” The problem is that one or both
of the parties involved have little to no experience in filling
out real estate documentation. This opens up both sides up to
potential litigation. It could be something as simple as forgetting
to check one little box on a form. Experienced agents know the
importance of correctly filling out paperwork and they do it
all the time so they have had much practice. Why would you take
a chance with your family’s well being to save a few bucks?
A knowledgeable Realtor will even be able to show you how offset
some of those costs and in some cases make you more money then
you would have made on your own. In essence, finding a good
